Gallardo Racing opens 2023 with Wild West Shootout

Fito, Jake and Peyton were all in action during the opening weekend of the Wild West Shootout at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM this past Saturday and Sunday nights.

Saturday night in Modified action, Fito struggled, racing from 9th to 8th in his heat race and then moving forward from 9th up to 7th in the b-main. Jake raced from 7th up to 4th in his qualifying heat race and then charged from 14th up to 7th in the night's feature event. Peyton entered X-Mod action and after running fourth in his heat race and placing third in the night's b-main, he worked his way forward from his 22nd starting spot in the night's feature event to cross the finish line with a 15th place run.

Sunday night, Peyton ran second in his X-Mod heat race before starting 12th in the night's feature and racing forward to a 7th place finish, while both Fito and Jake had troubles on the night. Jake was not able to finish either his heat race or b-main, ending his night prematurely, while Fito ran third in his heat, but wasn't able to transfer from the b-main, finishing 6th. Fito also ran in the X-Mod division and qualified for the feature, but was involved in an early race altercation, ending his run.
