January 17, 2021 - Fito and Jake Gallardo wrap up final three rounds of WWS
1Fito and Jake were back at the Wild West Shootout for the final three nights over the weekend in their #G17 and #J17 Modifieds.

Friday night, Fito drew the 12th starting spot in his heat race and fell out of the race early, which put him 23rd in the night's b-main. He also pulled off early to save his equipment. Jake started on the pole in his heat race, but fell out of the race, causing him to start 26th in one of the b-mains for the night. Just like Fito, Jake decided it was better to pull off early and save his equipment. 

Saturday, he started 6th in his heat race and charged forward to cross the finish line in 2nd, putting him 5th in the feature lineup. From his inside third row starting spot, he ran inside the top ten early, but for the second night in a row encountered issues, forcing him to retire early. Jake had a deja vu moment as he again started on the pole of his heat and again fell out of the event, putting him 28th in a b-main. Sunday, Fito was able to race to a second-place finish in his heat race, which put him on the pole of the b-main. He ran second in that event as well, transferring into the feature event. In the feature, he rolled of 19th and came home with a 21st place finish for his efforts to cap off the week long event. Jake was on the pole for the third night in a row in his heat race and was able to run second, which put him on the front row of one of the night's b-mains. He was able to win the b, earning the 17th starting spot in the main. In the main, he wrapped up his week with an 18th place finish for his efforts.

January 13, 2021 - Fito finishes 16th in round three of WWS
Fito and Jake were back in action at the Wild West Shootout for the mini-series third event of 2021. Both drivers drew at the back of their heat races and Fito started 11th in his, with Jake 9th in his. Fito was able to storm through the pack and cross the finish line with a runner up finish, putting him on the pole for the night's feature event. Jake raced from 9th up to 6th in his heat race and then raced from 8th up to battle for a transfer spot in the night's b-main, coming up one spot short, finishing 5th. In the feature, Fito raced up front for much of the event, battling inside the top five for the first half of the event, eventually slipping back and falling out of the race, finishing 16th officially.

January 10, 2021 - Gallardo tops Modified field in night two of Wild West Shootout
1Fito and Jake began their 2021 racing seasons by making the trip over to the Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, AZ for the annual Wild West Shootout, which is a six-race mini-series featuring Late Models, Modifieds and X-Mods. The event started on Saturday and the team rolled into track after draw cut off, which meant that they needed to start at the back of their respective heat races. Fito was able to rally from 11th to 4th and Jake was able to race from 11th to 6th in his. Both drivers then would line up in b-mains and both would end up crossing the finish line with 7th place finishes for their efforts.

After shaking off the rust on Saturday, the team was back in action on Sunday, where Fito raced from 6th to 3rd in his heat race, while Jake stormed from 11th to 3rd in his. During the feature, Fito started 10th and ran inside the top ten all race long, finishing with a tenth-place finish, but Jake was the talk of the night. He started on the pole and raced out front the entire 25-lapper, battling nose to tail and side by side with defending USMTS National Champion Rodney Sanders for the entire event. Jake was able to hold off Sanders and won a thrilling main event in a near photo finish.
