September 19, 2020 - Jake visits Victory Lane in Butch Reid/Mark Rogers Memorial opener at Route 66
Jake and Fito made the trip to the Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, TX for their 2 day season ending event. Friday night Jake swept the night in his #J17 by winning his heat race from the pole and the backing it up with a win in the main event from his 5th starting spot. Fito ran fourth in his heat race and then ended up falling out of the feature before the checkered flag flew. (Dr. Rock's Photography)

1Saturday night, Jake won his heat race again, but after starting 7th in the feature, he wasn't able to finish the night's main event. Fito raced from 8th to 2nd in his heat and then capped off the weekend with a fifth place finish in the night's feature event.

September 12, 2020 - Jake Gallardo lands Top-5 finish in USMTS action at RPM Speedway
1Jake and Fito both entered a trio of USMTS events over the course of the weekend, which kicked off at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA on Friday night. Jake ran 6th in his heat and used a provisional to start 25th in the main. He raced his way up four spots to come across 21th when the checkered flag flew. Fito ran 7th in his heat, but charged from 10th up to 3rd to qualify for the 17th starting spot in the main. He ended up 22nd. 

Saturday, the teams made their way over to the Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, LA for some Saturday night USMTS action. Jake ran third in his heat race and then started 11th and came home with a top ten finish, crossing the line 10th in the main. Fito ran third in his heat and in the b-main, before coming home 17th in the 40-lap main.

Sunday, the duo entered USMTS action at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, TX and both drivers ended the weekend with good runs. Fito ran fourth in his heat race before coming home 12th in the main, while Jake raced from 8th to 3rd in his heat, which earned himself the 4th starting spot in the main. From there, he ran inside the top five all event long, crossing the line in 4th for his efforts.

September 6, 2020 - Jake edges Fito in Butch Reid Jr. Memorial finale at AMS
1Fito and Jake spent the Labor Day weekend at the Alien Motor Speedway in Roswell, NM for the three day Butch Reid Jr. Memorial. 

Friday night, both drivers were able to win their respective heat races, earning themselves both spots in the night's redraw. Fito redrew 2nd and Jake 4th for the 30-lap $1,500 to win main event. During the feature, Fito got out to the early lead and never looked back, racing to the victory with Jake a solid second when the checkered flag flew.
Saturday, Fito won his heat race and Jake ran third in his, lining them up 7th and 14th respectively in the main. Unfortunately Fito fell out of the race and Jake worked his way up to an 8th place finish at the finish.

Sunday, for the $5,000 to win finale, Jake won his heat and Fito charged from 8th to 2nd in his. Fito earned the pole for the feature and Jake lined up 7th when the green flag flew. After a multitude of caution flags, Fito lead the opening half of the race and Jake blasted his way up to the second spot mid way through. Jake was able to make a move on his dad as they raced through turns three and four to take the lead just before a caution flew. After the restart, Jake took off and lead the remainder of the way for the 5 grand paycheck with Fito crossing the line a solid second.
